4th, 5th and 6th grade students worked collaboratively on a morning of STEM-related activities at Cecil Intermediate School with other gifted support students from the Washington County Gifted Consortium. Thanks to Cecil Intermediate and Mr. Tatum for hosting the event! Grades 2 and 3 competed against other gifted support teams at this year's Elementary Lit Fest at Trinity Area Middle School. Students earned points by completing trivia and other challenges at 5 stations. Students read All About Stephen Hawking and George's Secret Key the Universe, by Stephen Hawking and his daughter Lucy. This year's donations will go to the ALS Association. We used Quizlet Live to review new vocabulary from the four novels we've studied for this year's Elementary Lit Fest. A little competition and A LOT of fun! Our 5th-graders have been working hard designing a contraption that could pick up and move an object at least 5 inches. Ideas were brainstormed, explored and rejected. The three teams finally came up with their ultimate designs and are showing them off today at California University. |
