What is SeaPerch? SeaPerch is hands-on learning experience that teaches students about STEM concepts using marine engineering as a hook! We first learned about ROVs (Remotely Operated Vehicles) and how they are currently being used in research and for safety. While students construct they will learn about engineering concepts. After the build students will study buoyancy principles and see them first hand while navigating their ROVs underwater. Stay tuned for build updates! Before we began any construction students learned about tools & safe handling practices. Our first objective is to assemble subsystem 1, the unit's frame. We're still in the process of drilling and cutting.

Some of our students missed out on breakfast with Mrs. Claus this morning at their elementary school. Instead of pouting and getting on Santa's naughty list, we had donuts with Mrs. Sill! Not one of my little student elves said I resembled the dear old lady yet, so it was a win win! After our breakfast we got to work on preparing for the America Bowl in January with a review song and review games online. Some of us really feel the music. :) Next we picked one or two holiday activities to try. The snowflakes were a lot harder than they looked! Have a happy holiday and new year if I don't see you next week!
