Our 2nd and 3rd graders had a spooky good time at this year's Halloween themed STEM Challenge at McGuffey High School. Students rotated through stations that made them think. Updated on 11/15 Give them a hand! Take a look at these amazing working hands.
Today we competed against 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from Avella, Cecil, Chartiers-Houston, Fort Cherry, McGuffey, Trinity, and Washington school districts using Double-Digit 24 Math cards. We didn't bring home the "W" but we sure had fun! Fairchild Challenge A: Stoll Through The North Pole 2nd and 3rd graders COULD NOT WAIT to get their hands on recycled materials to make an Arctic Animal Ornament for the first of 3 elementary challenges. Students were tasked with researching then writing about adaptations. What did we learn in addition to our animal research? 1) Organizing our research questions is very important before writing, 2) Google Slides has a lot of flexibility for creating fun visuals (ask you child about it!), and 3) Mrs. Sill can't use a glue gun without burning herself.
